Agreement signed to coordinate a global marine biodiversity observing system

The GEO BON Marine Biodiversity Observation Network (MBON), the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS BioEco panel), and the Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS) will collaborate to network researchers and operational agencies around the world to build a unified and globally consistent observing system. The goal of the agreement is to strengthen the three initiatives by making use of the best available resources; share expertise; and ensure compatibility between outputs and advice from the three programs.
