We are thrilled to announce the reactivation and endorsement of the Japan Biodiversity Observation Network (JBON). Originally established in 2009, JBON is now revitalized with a clarified role to enhance biodiversity observation and data sharing in Japan. With the continued decline in global biodiversity and increasing recognition of its societal and economic impacts, JBON will play a crucial role in fostering collaboration among stakeholders, advancing observation networks, and promoting the effective use of biodiversity data. This renewed focus aims to support a nature-positive economy and bolster Japan’s efforts in global biodiversity conservation. Stay tuned for more details.
