I am very excited to be joining the GEO BON team as the biodiversity data scientist. I am passionate about GEO BON’s mission of facilitating trans-national coordination and collaboration to better understand the state of the world’s biodiversity and combat biodiversity loss. I have a background in biology and data science, and I recently completed my Master’s degree at McGill University, where I studied how urbanization is affecting global biodiversity patterns in birds using the citizen science database eBird. I look forward to using my skill set to help increase involvement with and utilization of BON in a Box as a tool for coordinating biodiversity observations and calculating policy-relevant metrics to detect biodiversity change.
