The second part of the United Nations Biodiversity Conference (Fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP-15) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), Tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (COP-MOP 10), Fourth meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization (NP-MOP 4)) is being held in Montreal, Canada, between 7-19 December 2022.

The main objective of this conference is to adopt the post-2020 global biodiversity framework (GBF). For the past years, GEO BON produced a series of materials (information documents, science briefs, webinars) to aid Parties to the CBD in their negotiations of the new framework. See our dedicated page to learn more about our work in support of the GBF negotiation and implementation.

GEO BON will be present at the COP 15 Exhibition with a booth welcoming delegates to learn more about our global network and its activities. GEO BON leadership and members will participate to various side-events, panel discussions and parallel events. We will discuss topics such as the need for standardized biodiversity observations, the indicators used in the monitoring framework, data to decisions workflows and the importance of a global biodiversity observation system.

Check this page regularly for updates on GEO BON activities at COP 15.
